Training Programme on Concrete Technology

Dear All, Structural Engineers

Concrete has emerged as the material no. 1 in the construction industry
leaving behind steel and all other materials by a big margin. Today every
construction project has an element of concrete in it and many sectors like
dams, tunnels, buildings etc. have concrete as the major material of
construction.

Concrete has also been evolving and newer concepts have been developed for
making better and better concrete. However, all the Research and
Development in concrete technology remains ineffective if the engineers in
the field do not practice the basics of concrete technology correctly. We,
therefore, find ourselves in an ironical situation in which one of the most
researched materials is also contributing to largest number of distresses,
failures, repairs and rehabilitation. There is thus a strong need to
upgrade the knowledge and skills of practicing civil engineers and enable
them to build better and more durable concrete structures.

The training department of HCC has designed and developed a program
addressing the core issues of concrete technology. The program covers the

practical sessions in the lab, case studies, group discussions, interaction
with industry experts and quizzes.

The programme includes coverage on conventional and advanced concrete
making materials, concrete mix design, properties of concrete, production,
transportation, placement, compaction and curing of concrete including
quality control and quality assurance.

After attending this program, the Civil engineers would acquire:

* Better understanding of the properties of concrete.
* Better understanding of conventional and advance concrete making
materials
* Ability to carry out concrete mix design.
* Better understanding of concrete making process and quality
control/quality assurance at each stage.
* Ability to supervise, inspect and troubleshoot all concrete related
activities.

The programme is of six days duration from Monday till Saturday. Charges for
参与to the programme are Rs. 10,000/- per person on residential
basis and Rs. 5,000/- per person on non-residential basis.
