Dear Sundar,

PEB Manufacturer's

1. In case your client and you are very sure that you want the building
as per IS: Standards, the PEB Manufacturer's have to accept the same. I have
done building with IS specifications.

2. Some but not all clauses of MBMA are lenient. You have to look for
loopholes which will bebefit them and safeguard yourself.

3. You have to check for minimum thickness of the metal as per durability
criteria i.e. 6mm for main members and 2.5mm for secondary members (purlins
etc). Check for web thickness to height ratio. Check for stiffners.

4. Welds on both side and continuous otherwise torsion will come into
play.

5. Take only Steel with Yield strength of 250 MPa for crane girders /
members subjected to repetitive loads.

6. Check the most important point of weld thickness. Generally they will
go upto the thickness of the least plate connected, but it is good practice
to have only thickness of weld 1.5mm less than the least thickness of member
to be welded.

7. Make a clause that fabrication drawings to be submitted before taking
the fabrication.

8. After checking them only release the drawing for fabrication.

9. Do not take any design by the PEB manufacturer on the face value,
check yourself and satisfy before granting any clearance.

等等。陷阱很多,但我希望你会able to overcome.

With warm regards.

Arvind
