Subject: Registration of Engineers
Hello members,
This will be of interest to most of you. For those having access to Hindustan Times of 15 March 2003, New Delhi, I invite you all to refer to HT Estates section first page titled " A Structured Approach" wherein the necessity of registration of Engineers is brought out. The efforts in this direction taken by Engineers Council of India ( ECI ) and Consulting Engineers Association of India ( CEAI), the only body affiliated with Int'l body called FIDIC, are also highlighted.
I feel that registration of all disciplines of Engg is required and just not the Civil- Structural Engineers.
As the Hony. Treasurer of CEAI, I invite all Consulting engineers throughout India to become members of CEAI and support the cause of the Engineers.
I wonder how many of you have seen the Public notice issued by AICTE on 2 March 2003, that henceforth Registration and licensing of engineers will be undertaken by AICTE.
当几个专业机构已经存在ing and a confederation of these 20 or so profesional bodies, including CEAI as the founder member, has already been registered in April 2002 as ECI, and when ECI & CEAI have already done lot of legwork in preparing a draft Engineers Bill to be given to Ministry of HRD for piloting in Lok Sabha, it is difficult to understand the logic of AICTE, specially when AICTE is already represented on ECI.
What would be the status of registered engineers only in one state, thru' a body that has no mandate from the govt in the form of a statutory body?
How will Engineers Mobility Forum view this vis-a-vis requirements of WTO & GATS?
Looking forward to your comments on this issue of AICTE getting into Registration of Engineers.
