Thanks going through my submission
IEI Charter is still in force in India for all the purposes pertaining to engineering applications, & relevant business
The institution has been issuing the statutory instruments for all catagories of corporate members AMIE/MIE/FIE
These diploma of memberships have the force of state document u & no body within the constitutional ambit can deny this fact
Based on the election to the august charted body IEI, one may get certificate as Chartered Engineer (India)
The institutute enjoys the authority of the letters pateny under the state warrant
I mean as caused by the then King of England
According tho the constitution of India which came into force on 26/1/1950. the president of India was empowered to adopt, repeal, amend these laws shrined as Existing laws within the constitution of India
This Order which comes within the definition of law in India falls within the existing law class & thereafter never got repealed or amended but construed to be adopted by the president in place of the then king
我使用了很多次在我的职业中& also witnessed in the courts pertaining to my business matters declaring myself as Chartered Engineer (India)& Professional Engineer (India) as I hold both these certifictaes
I have used these certificates in foreign countries many times
There is no erosion or degradation to the IEI charter. The erosion is only from our community which do not practice to apply the laws to self education
We always depend upon the university courses to understand the subject. For a person who is qualified engineer, has a duty to understand extra curricular subjects particularly in relation to the professional relevant laws
I may not mind for the young & budding engineers but those who are veteran & worked in the governments for the whole life never required this as according to law, the chief engineer or the engineer member is supposed to be a chartered engineer & all chief engineers are chartered engineers
In legal terms upto the rank of the SE, all are representative/resident engineers not engineers having the personal responsibility & liability
The practicing engineers are amenable to legal liability according to the IEI charter
This designation is personal & cannot be transferred. The company employing the engineer can not use the title but the person can us according to the charter & the relevant bye laws. No other society of engineering in India particularly enjoys the authority to award this title. As far as the Indian law is concerned, these certificates are valid otherwise how it is feasible that the IEI issue the certifiactes
I have many times attested the peoples certificates true copies & never objected by the person inspecting
Chartered engineers title is used in foreign countries also I have experienced personally.
The problen lies in the minds of ours
I suggest make as much use of this authority as possible to educate the general public
Regards
Eng Suraj Singh PE
