--------Original Message ------- Dear Sefians,
This is regarding design of BRICK PANEL WALLS against lateral wind load ( as per NBC refer Appendix-A, clause 4.10.1) . NBC gives permissible flexural stresses of brick masonry for bricks with minimum crushing strength of 75Kg/cm2 . But in India there are many areas where only POOR quality bricks are availble with crushing strength as low as 35kg/cm2. For designing a panel wall in those areas how to find permissible flexural stresss in that case. Or alternativley what is other material whcih can be used in place of brick, cost effectivley.
Please help me to find out a solution for the same.
