Respected Sirs & Dear Friends,
I am presently doing M.E.( structure ). i have my present thesis base on the topic of "Castellated Beam design" using new draft code . so can any one favour me by giving the information or some literature based on this topic or any reference .
i just hope for the good reponse from someone . so plz do help me. Thanks for helping .

Hello,
Are you referring to Draft Code IS800 or some other code?
是800 -It does not cover Castellated beams, as far as I know.
Pls confirm.
A Handbook for Steel Castellated Beams was in draft form several years back,
but I do not know its fate.
The Canadian Steel Industries Construction Council in Ontario has a small
handbook on beams
with web holes and Design of Welded Structures by Blodgett covers this topic
also.

What is the new draft code on castellated beams?
Steel Designers' manual by CONSTARDO discusses castellated beams in quite some detail.
I'll try to find our some more references.

Dear Mr. Barua,
We have constructed some castellated Bridges , long
ones over Railway Yard more than 2 decades back..Being
light it has to be ensured no open boom Crane pass
underneath which can lift the girders and displace the
same.The bridge can be seen in Tughlakabad.
