Dear Mr.Gandhi,

You may refer to Taranath, B.S., Steel concrete and composite design of tall buildings, 2nd edition, McGraw-Hill, NY,1998. He has given some methods to calculate the elastic shortening of coulumns in the last chapter. Hope it also has a few references(at present I do not have a copy of the book).
