Dear Shekhar Panandiker

Thanks for your kind reply.

Do you we do'nt need any steel in colomn flared porion ?
As in trepezidal footing we do not provide any steel on
sloped face ?

As the drop portion is subjected to compression, it does not
require any steel from bending consideration

kindly clarify

Thanks & regards

Dear Sefians

I have a question related to flat slab design, request experts to kindly advise me.

1) Any special reinforcement is required in column head ( Flared porion) or only
columns main reinforcement is enough.
2) Is there any reinforcement requird in drop bottom layer, let us say we have 200 mm
thick flat slab and at drop thickness is 250 ,so the bottom steel of flat slab continue
only at 200 mm level, but what about steel at 250 mm level, here distance is refered from slab top surface.

Kindly give your suggestions or any reference which talk in detail on detailing of
flat slab

Regards

Prashant

Dear Friends,

Why we should use Cracked software ?

1) If you are a small consultant and can not
afford multiple licenses of the software,
2) You want to learn new software but do not
want to buy legal until and unless you are not confident about it,

We are not promoters of Cracked software but facilitator. At times you
have to use it.

Please have a look on below list of Cracked Software available. We
gurantee full versions.

If any software is not available which you are looking for in below list,
please write to us, we will arrange it for you.

Dear Prashant,

The enlarged portion of coloumn is called capital of the coloumn and yes it
has reinforcement in the conical shape without which there is no meaning to
the coloumn capital.
这样做是做resist the punching shear caused due to small portion of
colomn on the slab (reaction).

As far as double reinforcement in the slab is concerned it is to be
calculated in the design.

Hope this solves your queries.

Dear Prashant,
Flat slab systems are two way systems in which the load is resisted in two
principal directions. Theseare beamless structures in which slab rests
directly on columns. The column supporting a flat slab floor has a tendency
to punch through the slab.In order to protect the structure against punching
effect, slab portions around columns are made 25 % to 50% thicker ( called
drops) and or columns are given brackets all around at their junctions with
slab ( called capitals)
The code gives two methods of design of flat slab structures
1. Empirical method and 2. Equivalent frame method.
The equivalent frame method has a wider application and it can be used to
situations of unequal spans as well. The flat slab systems are very efficient
in resisting vertical loads but are very weak in resisting horizonatl
loads. Thus these systems are best used in short buildings say upto four
storeys where horizonatl loads can be resisted by brick walls enclosing the
building. In taller buildings( say 4 to 8 storeys), the moments due to
horizonatl loads are to be resisted by frames formed by column strips with
the supporting columns. As the depth of the drop slab and that of the flat
slab are less in value, more steel is consumed in resisting horizontal
loads. In building of more than 8 storeys, shear walls or shear cores are
提供抵抗整个horizonatl剪切that flat slab system with
columns will resist only vertical load. This arrangemet gives an efficient
structural system for both vertical and horizontal loads.
We do need reinforcement in column heads.I hope I have cleared your doubts.
Thanks,

Regards,
Shekhar
