|
|
Dear All,
I was trying to model an L-column in ETABs through the "section designer" application of ETABS. I have two queries regarding that:
1. How to model the actual condition wherein two perpendicular beams will rest on two orthogonal legs of an L-column (which is the corner column of the building) ?
2. What is the significance of the "insertion point" and how to move the c.g. of the L-section to the insertion point. Please note that in the L-section the since the c.g. lies outside the section I am not able to click on the c.g. and drag it to the insertion point using "reshaper tool".
Also, please explain( if anyone is kind enough to) the significance of two axes shown in the "section designer" window. One is the XY axis (shown in green) and the other is the 2-3 axis shown in red? Initially both the axes stand together but after I create the L-section the axes separate out, that is, they move away.. _________________ Thank you, Abhishek Singh
