Dear All,

I received the following email from my friend. Can any one give some suggestions?

" One Engineer in NagarKoil, Tamilnadu, is designing a steel bridge of span 45 m but width only 2.5 m for walking and Auto rickshaw or taxis only. the design seems to be O K. he has calculated natural frequency for vibration as 6.2 seconds. Do you have any data of permissible for steel bridges. Here the Zone of earthquake is 3 by zoning of IS Code. If you have any information , please tell".
