Dear Sefians
I'm in a process of designing 3 storey 10m high,
RCC frame building in Himachal Pradesh. One side of the building is
abutting Hill.

I have planned to design anchored retaining wall supported by columns
horizontaly and by floor beams verticaly.

I have following queries regarding Retainning structure to be designed :

1. Is it advisable to transfer the lateral loads due to
backfill/Earthqauke to Hill Rock by providing anchors on each floor
level.

2. How shall I evaluate the best location for rock anchors.

3. How to evaluate Free length(Length between wall and rock face) and
bond length
of Rock anchor. What are the safety factors to be considered for the
design of rock anchors.

4. What details of Rock anchors I have to give for construction.
