Hi All,
In pile design,while checking the pile load carrying capacity with reaction, whether we need to consider 100% of axial load or lesser than that?

Dear Er.Sathya
The pile load capacity should be more than 100% of the axial load on the pile for the case of DL + LL
Extra capacity is allowed under seismic conditions, depending upon the soil conditions.
Piles may be subject to horizontal loads also, and the pile should be safe for bending moments induced by the horizontal loads also
