Dear All,
- More clarification on Cl7.3.10 on how to calculate inter storey drift stability coefficient is required which is not clear. If some one explains with some numbers it will be helpful.
- What is expected under clause 7.2.d for P- delta analysis shall be clarified. Is this for static earthquake base shear and dead loads?
- Clause 9.7.1 clarification on zoned spring constants is required. It should be clearly mentioned that in plan area of raft variation of strata can be considered by using appropriate spring constants.
- I personally feel that combined building model including structure + raft on springs should not be used. Superstructure and substructure modelled should be separately analysed and not mixed together. As the springs are compression only springs and thus iterative analysis is required to find the contact area for each load combination. I would like to know comments from experts.
Regards. Hemant Vadalkar Consulting Engineer Mumbai.
