Hi SAFIans :
I'm Student of Mtech - Structural Engineering According to SP-16 : 1980(BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS), While designing Compression Members Subjected to Biaxial Bending -3.3 clause Example-8 We have to check for minimum Eccentricity "Moments due to minimum eccentricity are less than the actual value". What if this case is not occurred i.e Moments due to minimum eccentricity are greater than the actual value. Sorry for asking such theoretical question. I have attached theimageof SP -16 relevant page for my question.

In case the moments are less than the moments due to minimum eccentricity, you have to design the member for the moments due to minimum eccentricity. |
