Dear Sir Curing of Slab and Beams not sprinkled with water. We made confined stagnation of water for min21Days (though the CPWD specifications restrict to lesser days) by all round raised mortarbands or laying one brick heighton all outer wall positions. So that min 2 to 3'' of water height is maintained throughout the day and night for 21 days. It may not match immersion of cube strengthof curing on all sides, but in slab it is restricted only on top and sides. There may not be much variation for the above type of curing , but theoreticallyboth are not equivalent. Pl refer the RCC portion of CPWD specificationVol-I in which the chapter clearly state the casting, curing, testing, acceptance criteria and payment details based on strength and acceptance criteria for slight;y lesser valveof cube strength.
