Having gone through the hot discussions from various engineering

Personalities, one point is obvious that the engineers have not been very

awake about the legal system in India. It is my personal request to all Indian Engineers among all disciplines to understand the statutes prior to being emotional in approach. Indian system is a professional legal management. Courts works based on statutes & not on our opinions.

Unfortunately our engineering education is defective as far as the legal chapters are not thought. At least those which require an understanding of the relevant laws pertaining to the profession must be understood to make the engineers good managers to protect from being embarrassed at the hands of the administrators & the legal advisors. It is also true that the advocates in general do not know about engineering laws in India.

Laws are very simple in understanding as well as cheaply available as Government publication .Bare Acts may help the engineers fundamentally & the period of 5 years minimum required as post graduate practical experience to qualify to be elected as a corporate member AMIE is a direction towards that which we do not recognize. It is not understood why we engineers are hesitant to be the AMIE/MIE corporate members when it is statutorily recognized as letters patent
