Hello, Do not get confused between hinge support and hinge joint. What we assume in truss is hinge joint. that is why there can be translation. but at the end, there is no translation where there is support. in out regular trusses, we consider one end as hinged and other as roller then only truss is statically determinate. regards yogesh
