As many of you may be aware the Structural Engineers World Conference SEWC 2007 is being held for the first time in India at Bangalore from Nov 2nd to 7th 2007. The list of invited speakers from around the world is reads like an international celebrity list. It includes Dr. Bungale Taranath, Prof Priestley, Mr. Roland Sharpe, Prof. P K Mehta, Dr. S. K. Now comes the very exciting part. We at SEFI and NICEE have been able to strike an exclusive deal with SEWC organisers and as a very special concession, there will be a discount of 27.5% on registration charges for SEFI and NICEE subscribers only. Thus you would have to pay Rs 8000/- only, instead of Rs 11000/- as registration fees.

And now for more news for Mumbai folks. SEWC 2007 is organising a Road Show on Oct 11 at 7:30 pm at Mayfair Rooms on Annie Besant Road, Worli. The Mayfair Rooms are opposite SASMIRA college (and next to Kwality Restaurant). We felt this would be a central location and easy for all to access. This is a pre-conference Cocktails and Dinner get-together. The event is free but you must register yourself for the event. There are limited seats and registration is on first cum first served basis.
